Research

Studies that turn into better hearing care.

Our active research focuses on the moments families most need help — preparing for cochlear-implant surgery, and accepting hearing-aids in later life.

Project 1 · Ongoing

Sanwad – Nirnaymitra

In association with Test India Pvt. Ltd., a Mumbai-based company, this project develops a counselling video that addresses parents' fears about cochlear-implant surgery. A survey was carried out across Pune, Kolhapur, Mumbai and Aurangabad to gather feedback from parents and professionals. The video will save professional counselling time, reduce redundancy, and help families arrive at the surgery with clarity and confidence.

Project 2 · Ongoing

Sanwad – Reconnect

Hearing loss in the older population is largely age-related. Adults above 75 often face isolation and depression because they cannot keep up with conversation, and are reluctant to invest in hearing-aids given limited remaining life expectancy. Sanwad-Reconnect offers advanced hearing-aids on a rental basis to build acceptance, while studying perception of hearing-aids from both the patient's and the family's perspective.
